Our founder, Wayne Steimle, a high school physics teacher in the summer of 1952, embarked on a personal project to build a pool for his family in his backyard in California.
Finding a scarcity of swimming pool builders, he took matters into his own hands by employing several of his students to construct what would become the inaugural "California Pools" swimming pool.
Once completed, the pool sparked interest among friends and neighbors, who began requesting Wayne build them pools of their own. Seizing this opportunity, Wayne founded California Pools, laying the early foundation of California Pools Franchise Inc – a swimming pool construction franchise recognized as a leader in a nearly $7 billion industry.
